Judge rules man’s failure to live up to conjugal rights of wife constituted grounds for divorce

Good to be back in Seattle and I wanted to share an article about divorce, it is quite eye opening in fact…This is an amazing story, just too surprising to resist. The story is about a judge in Nice, France, who ruled that the legal code that states married couples must consent to a “shared communal life,” implied that “sexual relations must form part of a marriage.” Divorce rates seem to be going up lately in this country… Wow, there are a lot of women who’d be in trouble in this country if the laws and U.S. judges were aligned with their French counterparts in Nice.

The story appeared on the New York Daily News website, under the World section. The piece was written by Daily News staff writer, Lukas I. Alpert, under the headline, “51-year-old Frenchman ordered to pay ex-wife $14,000 for lack of sex.” It was posted September 5, 2011. Incidentially if you happen to be in Seattle, Washington and are looking out for a Seattle divorce attorney who also does other similar form sof law such as family law this one may be for you and, this attorney also does for that matter Bellevue DUI plus criminal defense cases.

Alpert writes that the 47-year-old wife demanded 10,000 Euros in recompense for “lack of sex” during her twenty-year marriage. He adds that, “The ex-husband – identified in court papers only as Jean-Louis B. – blamed “tiredness and health problems” for his failure to perform.” Alpert quotes the judge as saying, “A sexual relationship between husband and wife is the expression of affection….”

This really does not seem unfair to the husband on the face of it. Who knows what ailments he suffered from? And why did she hang around for twenty years if she was so dissatisfied? Furthermore, Alpert writes. Of course that is certainly grounds for the divorce overall.

San Francisco woman on her way to see movie alleged to be DUI with her 4-year old in the car

Whether you are in Dallas, San Jose or wherever, lets face it, this is a big issue: Now, I don’t usually have too much sympathy for drunk drivers, and I guess I really don’t in this case, either, but it’s just that it’s so pathetic. It seems so often that the innocent have to suffer the most.
Anthony Myers reported this story for the San Mateo County Times, posted August 24, 2011, under the headline, “San Francisco woman suspected of taking her daughter to ‘The Smurfs’ while drunk and crashing her car in Daly City not charged yet.” Oh BTW if you are in Dallas or Fort Worth, Texas and need a Dallas auto accident attorney who also does personal injury related cases then I can suggest this great firm overall. They also do motorcycle accident cases in Dallas, a top attorney who ives great service too.
It seems a San Francisco woman took her little 4-year old girl to see “The Smurfs.” Problem was, she was so drunk she crashed her auto in the garage of the Century 20 movie theaters in Daly City.
Myers reported in his piece that the Daly City police say they couldn’t even charge her with child-endangerment, DUI and hit-and-run charges because she was so drunk, according to Sgt. David Mackriss that she could not stand up. My friend who runs this San Jose Auto Service told me he sees a lot of banged up vehicles in his auto repair service shop from this sort of thing, and a lot of it causes personal injury too.
The woman was transported to a hospital and later released.
According to the police, The 41-year-old mother had vodka in her purse when she took her 4-year-old to see the movie. Myers noted that she was arrested just after 6:40 p.m. when her auto crashed into a couple of parked cars and a safety barrier.
Sgt. Mackriss was quoted as saying, “She was too (drunk) to even stand up. We’re quite amazed that this woman was able to drive and attend a movie. But we’re glad the child turned out OK.”
Fortunately, Myers writes, “No one was injured in the accident, and the child was picked up by her father at the scene.”
Seems like in a case like this we ought to have treatment clinics where someone like that would be taken to for treatment for say a year, and then face charges when her head is cleared up. This woman obviously has a very serious problem
